I'm Gonna Try The NaNoWriMo Thing
I meant to try the NaNoWriMo thing last year...but forgot. I forgot about it this year as well, but got reminded when I was visiting Claudia's blog today.
For those not familiar with the acronymn, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. You have the month of November to write a 50,000 word novel (about 175 pages) from scratch. The whole idea is to focus on output and not quality. If anybody's interested, just click on the NaNoWriMo link on the right side of this page.
Of course, I'm so damn busy with other stuff I hardly have time to take a daily dump. But
Since I'm already six days behind, I'd better get my ass in gear.

Good luck. Are you going to post it here?
I'm doing it too. I'm having a rough time not editing as I go along as well. It drives me nuts. The last book I wrote I revised about 6 times myself before it was edited twice after that. That was for a college thesis. I HAD to edit as I went along and I thought that was great. This is tough as nails for me, to write and leave it alone.
Who knows though, maybe it will show us a different side of our writing, if we set words to print without looking back until next month...

kenju,
I'll probably post a few scenes as I get into the story if I have time to edit them. I'd be too embarrassed to post the raw writing.
suz,
I'm in my fifth day of writing and I'm getting a little better at it.
It's just so hard to fix in my mind that this stuff doesn't have to be good...so unlike the norm.
