How To Spend Your Tax Rebate Patriotically

The Federal Government is sending each of us a $600 rebate.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China.
If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.
If we buy a computer, It will go to India.
If we purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala.
If we purchase a good car, it will go to Japan.
If we purchase useless crap,it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on prostitutes and beer, since these are the only products still produced in the US.

So...do your patriotic duty...as often as possible.

How long did it take you to get your check?

You're right Gene...but I have a thing for Chilean wine so I'll cheat a bit on that.

Sudie...I haven't even filed a return yet.

Cook your own food from scratch, buy American cars, don't buy what you don't need, don't use credit cards, grow and can your own produce,in short you need to be Amish to keep the money here.I respect those people. They can buy a house outright and pay for surgeries in CASH.We have no discipline ,ethics, or patience and that's why this country is going down the drain. I make homemade food every day. I bake from scratch. When people taste my food, they are in shock because they've been eating refined garbage for so long they do not know what real food tastes like. I also sew my own dresses, pants, curtains, tablecloths, slip-covers, etc. We live in a "I Want it Now!" society and that's the problem We have no attention span anymore. I spent my check on garden supplies and a new oven. The best I could do. Now if my grape vines would start producing, I'll make my own wine too.See, if people have no land, they can't be self-sufficient. I swear if I could I would have cows, chickens, and pigs too.Of course I still buy lingerie, pantyhose, and DVD's, because we gotta live too, just in balance.I miss my grandmothers. They knew how to enjoy life without going broke. They could make a house beautifull and fill a table in style . I hope I'm doing half as good. My daughter does not know how to cook, and my boys don't either.Who am I going to pass all my culinary knowledge onto? My grandaughter Luna Sophia Manarino is due in 3 weeks, I hope to teach her the old ways.I should write a cookbook.

Take Care,

Kim,

I'm with ya...particularly on the wine. I've got the space to plant grapes, but I travel too much to tinker with the vines. I do, however, have the next best thing...a neighbor with a vineyard who also makes wine.

Write the cookbook! I do all the cooking in my house, and nothing is written down. I'm thinking of making a recipe blog so that my family and friends have something to learn from.
