Livin' On Sponge Cake Watchin' The Sun Bake...
Can you guess where I am?
Hint #1: Parrot heads
Hint #2: Think Jimmy Buffet
That's right. I'm in paradise...sorta.
Actually, I just returned from a few days in the Florida keys...where the weather was a helluva lot better than it is here at home. Nothin' to do but relax, read, bask in the sun, eat, drink, drink, drink...and watch the daily sunsets (a tradition in the keys)...and drink some more. Check out the pics taken from our hotel.
Needless to say, after several balmy 85-degree days it was really hard to come back to temperatures in the teens. To make things worse, in the next hour I'm leaving to catch a plane to Chicago where the temperature is expected to be in the @#$%-shriveling single digits and sub-zero with the wind chill factor.
I'd definitely rather be "wastin' away in Margaritaville..."
Badaboom Burrr Badabing...

Well, I see you posted this last week. Our cold snap has snapped, and it was a balmy 24 today, a couple of inches of snow on the ground when we woke up, and 4-8 coming tonight!
Ahhhh, Chicago in the winter. There's only one reason we Chicagoans put up with this crap...it makes the spring that much more sweet. That first 65 degree, sunny day? There's nothing finer. I usually spend it standing outside with my face to the sun, my arms outstretched, and my neighbors looking at me funny.
I've spent time in the Keys -- great place! Funny that you were there while I was going skiing in Colorado! Two pretty good vacation destinations. At least I was able to come home to temps in the 60s and 70s.
Glad to hear about the change in weather. I have to go back to Chicago next week so I hope the heat spell continues. :-)
I also like Colorado, but I'm not a skier. I get out to Colorado Springs several times a year and often try to take a few days to go hiking in the mountains (weather permitting).
